Day trips in every direction

From Finca KaYu, it’s easy to explore the region. Fancy a bit of adventure? Hike the spectacular El Caminito del Rey, take a dip in the natural pools of Barranco Blanco, or discover the trails and viewpoints in the Sierra de las Nieves natural park – all within a 20 to 30-minute drive.

If you’re in the mood for culture and history, visit the historic town of Ronda, get lost in the streets of Mijas Pueblo, or take a day trip to Granada and explore the world-famous Alhambra.

Authentic coastal spots

Prefer the sea? Within short driving distance you’ll find several authentic beach areas mostly visited by locals. No tourist traps here – just relaxed atmosphere, Spanish families, and good food. Here are a few of our favourites:

• El Palo → El Tintero
  A lively beachfront restaurant where waiters walk around with trays of freshly grilled fish. You choose what looks good. A local classic.
• Pedregalejo → Pez Tomillo
  Located in a charming fishing district with a long seaside promenade. Enjoy modern Mediterranean cuisine with sea views.
• Torrequebrada → Las Yucas
  Set atop a cliff with a panoramic view of the coast. A bit more refined, but still relaxed and accessible.
• Carvajal → La Cubana
  A colourful beach bar right on the sand. Great for morning coffee or a casual lunch with your feet in the sand.

Worth visiting year-round

Andalusia is a great destination all year round. In winter, you can even go skiing: the Sierra Nevada slopes are just two hours away. You’ll find sunshine, sea views and peaceful pistes – without the crowds.
